Imaginarium Gran Gala Invitation

Layering elements in a printed project is very much like layering clothes – some people know how to pull off the look and others don’t.

This invitation brings interesting old and new materials together to create a distinctive appearance and feel for a very special night at the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico.

The idea was to make an interactive mini replica of the featured art installation for the guests and trigger their imaginations with the layers and the vivid colors and forms used as visual motifs.

The designer used her imagination to create a diecut window made of Rubylith. The red ruby allowed the event details – printed in black – to show through.

As you open the invite, additional type in red and white emerges (cleverly hidden through the ruby) surprising us with the title for the evening – Imaginarium (Imagination).

All the materials chosen for this package worked together beautifully. The vintage aura of the translucent Glama Natural belly band, the mystery of the Rubylith masking film diecut square, the shimmering glamour of the Starwhite Flash Blue card and envelope… all coalesce in a unique and unified way.
