Dimensional direct mail, like this box, receives among the highest response rates. No surprise really as the box is something immediately associated with a gift.
And who wouldn’t want a gift? Especially one so nicely wrapped as this piece for a jewelry store. The first thing you see is a sticker sporting the initials of the store’s name. That sticker holds a satin ribbon in place around the two-piece box.
Now for the box! The ESSE Pearlized stock retains its texture and sparkle even after receiving the flood of red ink. Lift the luscious lid and SURPRISE! The bottom of the box unfolds like an origami flower to reveal one large, round-cornered panel consisting of nine quadrants. That panel is the invitation to a private, after-hours holiday reception.
As you look down into the box bottom (before it is completely unfolded), you immediately see the main copy of the invite – the center quadrant where the type is reversed out of the red printed background color. The remaining quadrants contain images of jewelry; an illustration of the storefront; and the store name and tagline, which reads:
Tiny Jewel Box. If it’s not special, it’s not here. So true … at least for this direct mail piece!
