FAME Open House Invitation

I am roaring in love with this 1920s, Prohibition-inspired open house invitation from the design team at Fame Retail. A simple enough idea: four round-corned cards, plus a cute pin to wear to the party, inside an envelope.

The first impression I had was that the invite had been done on leather! The blind debossed pattern on 100 lb. Eclipse Black Wausau Royal Complements Cover had fooled me – much to my delight.

Each card was laminated to create a double thickness. Good for two reasons: it hid the backside letterpress impressions and added a heft that bestowed an even more luxurious quality to the piece.

The fun copy gave a requisite nod to the by-gone era, but did so with a modern twist that is most appealing to a contemporary crowd. Recipients were required to R.S.V.P. to get their “password” admission for the festivities. This is a brilliant way of engaging the audience, creating buy-in, and serving as an enhancement to actually reply.

I raise my glass in salute to this wonderful design.
