What do you get when you cross a designer with a love of typography and a passion for crafts? A cross-stitch calendar made in DIY heaven. This stitch-it-yourself project has great calendar design all sewn up.
Opening the kit feels like entering a crafter’s closet filled with paper and ribbon and baubles begging to be turned into a unique personal project. Inspired by old cross-stitch samplers, the designer created a modern, easy-to-do version for paper.
All the little details set the calendar kit apart – from the custom-printed tape to the repeating Xs used to form type … from the various textures (cool metal needle, silky thread, tactile uncoated paper) to the creative use of stocks.
Rather than printing the instructions on a simple sheet of white paper, these are done as a tri-fold brochure on Mohawk Britehue Red Cover. Calendar months are printed on French Speckletone Madero Beach Cover with .25-inch holes drilled for easy hanging.
