I’m a little persnickety about my holiday wrapping and am always looking for something different. You know, just the right balance of wow-look-at-that! and ooo-that’s-cool! When these gift tags from Willoughby Design came in, it was love at first sight.
Gold foil stamping on three wonderfully unusual colors of French Paper made this thoughtful idea a standout. Each 5 x 9 sheet is a greeting card from the design studio and has four diecut ornament-shaped gift tags. Recipients simply punch out the tag and insert the white twine laced with gold thread into the little diecut holes. The twine is conveniently wound around the bottom of the sheets.
The illustrations are definitely the irresistible element here. The fonts are perfect for each shape, and the detailing is joyful. Rather than looking like four disparate tags stuck on a card, the team took the time to create a design that was cohesive – the diecut tags hang from the bough.
About the PaperSpecs Gallery
We’ve created a curated space where design, paper and printing excellence are celebrated and made very visible – for those who love the medium of paper. For those who want a little inspiration. For those who may be your next clients.
What’s in it for you?
As well as receiving exposure for your work (and the admiration of your peers), a feature video about your project might appear on the PaperSpecs website.
Go on, Show us What You’ve Got
Those selected to appear in the PaperSpecs Gallery will be notified by e-mail. Not all entries will be selected for inclusion. We’re looking for those printed pieces that are truly inspirational in terms of creative and appropriate use of paper, and excellence in design and printing.
We can’t wait to see what you’re capable of!
