Legion Paper
As those who attended the recent National Stationery Show discovered, Legion Paper doesn’t do anything half-way. Known for coming up with fun and intriguing promotions for the annual event, this year they went straight for the wallet with super-cool currency. Attendees were invited to fill their pockets with these whimsical bucks that were die cut, holographic, blind embossed, screen printed, foiled, letterpress printed and even risographed. The initiative was created to drive traffic to exhibitors’ booths as well as to show off the breadth and capabilities of the papers Legion offers. (Last year the theme was ’70s baseball trading cards!)
In all, 32 designers and exhibitors were selected to participate in the annual project after submitting a design for their own currency; each dollar bill represented the unique style of the designers. The theme and size of the card were the only criteria provided; print method, paper, and design were all up to those who participated.
Speaking of paper, the sheets chosen from Legion’s 3,000 different papers (from 16 countries!) seemed plucked from every paper-lover’s wish list, including:

Attendees visited each booth to collect that particular exhibitor’s currency before stashing it all in a fantastic wallet designed by Reyn Paper Co. and printed by Henry & Co. on Plike Orange 122 lb. Cover & Stardream Amethyst 105 lb. Cover.

Legion Paper also worked with Sarah Schwartz from Stationery Trends and The Paper Chronicles along with Jill DiNicolantonio from Parse & Parcel on the project.
