The marketing world’s been messing around with QR codes and augmented reality for years now, and seldom does anything really useful come of it. Occasionally, however, a company shows us something new and interesting. Berlin’s Razorfish ad agency used conductive ink and Bluetooth to transform a brochure for the Audi TT into a virtual cockpit experience.
Simply open the brochure to the image of the vehicle’s control panel, place your smartphone over it, and press the “Start” button on the brochure itself. From there you get a hands-on tour of the car’s “virtual cockpit” using buttons built into the brochure page. The result is pretty eye-opening and guaranteed to get even non-gearheads excited.
