Hats off to Leo Burnett Lisboa – the Lisbon, Portugal arm of the advertising firm – for designing a brochure for power company EDP Group, all without the use of electricity. The effort was part of EDP’s Access to Energy campaign, which is focused on bringing power to isolated communities. As PSFK reports:
The brochure was created off the grid using techniques that don’t rely on electricity, and took a month’s worth of work. Designers did the drawings and folded the brochures by hand, used sunlight as the light source, printed hundreds of copies manually, and documented the whole process with analog cameras in an attempt to show people how large a role electricity plays in their lives.
