Fear not, you have not been ensnared by “click bait.” This bookmark – designed by Moscow firm The Bakery – is indeed sensual, exciting at least two senses thanks in part to its use of Arjowiggins’ Curious Matter paper. (Yes, that sheet forever known as “the potato paper” thanks to its use of raw potato starch.) As The Bakery points out, it feels a bit like stone or even sandpaper. (PRO members, request your copy of the Curious Collection swatch book – featuring Curious Matter – today.)
The following description comes to us from The Bakery via IdentityDesigned.com:
“Bearing in mind that Curious Matter is all about sensation and is widely used in luxury print, we brought the idea of discovering beauty in something ordinary into the project by using a contrasting print finish. We treated the bookmark as a stone cut. The front remains almost untouched with just the logo and text embossed, communicating untreated mineral. The reverse is hot-foiled to achieve the look and feel of a precious stone. “
