Palo Alto, California – November 14, 2011 – All hosts throwing a party or special event want their invited guests to feel like they’ll be attending an A-list occasion. But where will you find the inspiration to design an A-list invitation?
PaperSpecs’ next free webinar, “The Art of the Invitation,” will motivate you with examples of well-designed and unique invitations and show you how to use exciting materials and methods to translate the client’s style and personality into an invitation to remember – whether the event is a wedding, birthday party, shower, graduation, gallery opening or corporate function.
Special guest speaker, Suzie McKig of Twig & Fig, will share examples of the amazing invitations she has produced and talk about how you can achieve a look that fits the tastes of the client and the tone of the event:
- Drawing inspiration from the client and the world around you
- Translating a client’s personal style into a well designed invite
- Mixing, matching and customizing paper for a unique look and feel
- Adding bling and interest to invitations with unexpected materials
- Organizing the essential components of your invitation package
“People are widening their concept of what invitations should look like, what materials are used, and which printing and finishing processes are involved,” says McKig. “It’s a great time to be involved with invites because there’s a much greater desire for personal expression, which translates into so many fun options!”
You don’t want to miss “The Art of the Invitation.” This webinar is free thanks to the generous support of Neenah Paper. Space is limited, so reserve your seat today for this special event at www.paperspecs.com/webinar.
About Suzie McKig and Twig & Fig
Twig & Fig sprouted boldly in 2003. It all started when Suzie McKig and Serge Vigeant longed to reassert their passion for design—this time, together. After completing a run of ardent studies at Art Center College of Design, Suzie (Twig) launched her own graphic design firm in Los Angeles focusing on entertainment, fashion, cosmetic and boutique perfumerie clients. All the while, Serge (Fig) headed a vigorously active product design company in Montreal (yes, he’s a native Francophone). Fate brought them together one day when Twig ordered a product from Fig’s company. Even though 3000 miles apart, true love ensued. Shortly thereafter, Serge joined Suzie’s graphic design team, and the union initiated big change. They bought their first letterpress machine. Serge learned to print. They moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for a more inspiring setting in which to do their new work. Romance drove his presses and fueled her designs. Soon after, their first wedding collection came to fruition, as did the praises. And there you have it. Suzie’s gusto for paper and design hitched with Serge’s fire for precision and old-world printing blossomed into something entirely fresh … Twig & Fig.
