Though our mind has quickly flown to making out our shopping list the half a dozen times we’ve attempted to pick up anything by JRR Tolkien, we can’t help but have a healthy respect for any work that can inspire the passionate loyalty his books have throughout the ages. Take this splendid sculpture of The Hobbit‘s dragon, Smaug, delicately crafted from the pages of that book by Danish artist Victoria.
Extra points for the little hobbit that’s trying to get away from the mythical beast (and for the revelation that “Hobbit” in Danish is “Hobbitten”.)
