Keeping your projects environmentally friendly is a noble goal, but Monadnock Paper Mills’ new Envi Portfolio line of fiber-based products indirectly underscores another one: keeping paper relevant in an increasingly plastic world.
In addition to the usual store and restaurant signage, the Envi Portfolio includes:
- Wall graphics made from 10% post-consumer recycled fiber (in place of murals and vinyl window decals)
- Duraprint 5.4 mil durable covers for menus and presentation covers with options for die/laser cut, foil stamping and embossing
- Card stock for gift and loyalty cards
- Folding box board (100% PCW-content) for packaging.
Despite its name, the Envi Portfolio comes across less as an envious reaction to plastic than as a bold move to take back valuable space in stores and restaurants.
All of which is not to downplay the remarkable effort that’s gone into minimizing the Envi Portfolio line’s impact on the planet’s well-being: certifications for its backlit-poster alone include FSC/Rainforest Alliance, ISO 14001: 2004 compliance, carbon-neutral manufacturing, chlorine-free processing, and all made with a combination of wind and hydro-electric power – whew.
The Gap clothing chain and Burt’s Bees have already signed on to using Portfolio items for their earth-friendly benefits.
