For most of us, Valentine’s Day is like a high-school trauma that hangs over us for the rest of our lives. If we’re lucky, we’ve found our “special someone”, in which case Feb. 14th is an annual reminder that our relationships could fall apart at any moment. If we’re alone then @#$! it, do we really need to be reminded of that fact every year? And for those who have feelings for another but can’t seem to make that jump into a relationship, well that’s really it’s own kind of heart-stomping hell now isn’t it?
Los Angeles designer/illustrator Emily McDowell transformed our ambivalence toward this annual spectacle of love and anguish into a fun line of cards that say more than your typical drugstore-bought card ever could. [H/T: Cup of Jo]
