Company holiday parties have come a long way. And this is one of the best examples we’ve seen of a meaningful idea supported by outstanding design. The firm’s holiday party functioned as a benefit for Project READ, enabling invited guests, most of whom were beneficiaries of excellent educations, with an opportunity to support adult literacy.
The design team linked the event’s theme with the cause of literacy by creating a Christmas tree, which transforms into a “tree of knowledge.” A window in the shape of a Christmas tree reveals a statement about literacy. Printed on 110 lb. Strathmore Cover, the accordion folds up to the formal invitation and finally a symbolic tree composed of open books (love this).
Leaving nothing to waste, that diecut from the front cover of the invitation functions as a tree ornament for the holidays and bookmark keepsake for year-round use.
The palette was bright and playful – a traditional red and green with an unexpected yellow that added energy. Combining offset lithography with letterpress type gave a tactile feel and a level of elegance suited to the occasion.
