This couple’s meeting in Japan during cherry blossom season inspired the graceful and sophisticated design of their wedding invitation: a meaningful emblem of love and unfolding commitment.
A paper heart tucked into a diecut slit on the invite card is magically transformed (thanks to the unique fold) into the shape of a cherry blossom. Type, containing the customary details, spirals inside the now fully opened flower. Choosing engraving here lends a level of elegance that adds extra appeal and that personal touch.
Mohawk Loop Feltmark and an embossed pattern on the card provide a tactile element. The design team created the pattern using a unique Asian seal design for the couple, the Japanese “tea plant” crest of the groom’s family, and the traditional Chinese symbol of double happiness for marriage.
Rubber stamps of the seal designs were also made and then applied to the envelope, gift bags and thank you notes giving each invitation a personalized touch (in addition to functioning as the couple’s personal seal going forward).
