This publication for an exhibition sponsored by PUBLIC Bikes is at once catalog and keepsake. A group of 27 artists, illustrators and designers created fine art posters that interpret the bicycle and public spaces. The creations are beautifully reproduced and carefully paired with fitting quotations for this inspiring and thought-provoking book.
A subtle black-on-black tire pattern used on the inside front and inside back covers serves as a visual counterpoint for the brightness on the text pages. The six colors used in printing the piece move vibrantly and smoothly across the Mohawk Superfine surface.
A section was devoted to the bios and likenesses of the contributing 27 artists. But rather than using the same-old photographic head shots, the design team commissioned Zach Trenholm to produce their portraits. His illustrations really brought a consistent feel to the catalog and added yet another artistic touch.
