When talking about interior design, I often think of “statement pieces.” Those items that stand out in our memories and seem to sum up the personality of the home (and many times the home owner). Business cards are statement pieces too. They should pique our interest, invite us to take a second look, and create a memorable impression of the business.
Graphic designer Jack Muldowney accomplishes this in lovely fashion for his client, a Louisville, Kentucky interior designer. The monogram logo is inspired by the Victorian era homes where Bella Casa Interiors does most of its business. Muldowney illustrated a custom “BC” lockup with all the flourishes any self-respecting Victorian would have.
The card has a dominating presence thanks to its unique oversize (3.5 x 2.25) and 180 lb. Cougar Cover. Violet foil stamping that dances in variable lighting and silver edge painting that shows special attention to detail give it an irresistible “Painted Lady” quality.
