The everyday tools that surround me are lovely objects and daily reminders to me of how fun my day job is — I am very blessed.
It’s the little things done well that we remember most. Tom Froese’s stationery is printed truth of this adage and evidence that the designer/illustrator is talented indeed.
Letterpress printed on Rising Museum Board, the business card and postcard are thick and rich. Black overprinting the PMS red was conceived perfectly and executed with considerable skill – tiny type, ink squiggles, and shadow texture on the mechanical pencil are amazingly detailed and in registered.
The illustrations themselves are simple and evocative, and I love how they connect the viewer to the printing process. There’s no doubt what the possessor and creator of these pieces does for his day job … and that he must be a very busy guy.
