Amidst illustrations, scrap fabrics and inspiration boards at LA’s prestigious Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, two designers discovered a common obsession — luxury footwear with a distinct and imaginative style. Combining a singular vision with years of experience, Cherise Angelle and Nicole LaFave created luxury women’s footwear brand Omelle, which manufactures sophisticated, playful and quirky shoes. Under her design-studio company name Design Womb, Nicole also created the brand’s identity.
According to the company, “The logo design is both modern and feminine, embracing a subtle play on the owners’ unique differences within the letters. The stationery system was created to reflect a luxurious and quirky aesthetic by using paper that evokes a handcrafted, textured look with alternating gunmetal and copper foil stamping. The metallics and felt-like finish can also be found on the Italian-made outsoles and signature heel designs” of the shoes themselves.
The business card is printed on Neenah Oxford 100 lb. Cover in Peace with a textured finish. Production highlights include lithography, engraving, foil stamping and stitching at the top of card, which uses three colors: Litho Warm Gray 6, PMS 8403 and Foil Gunmetal 144.
The designer embraced two very trendy techniques that also reflect the duo’s approach to shoe design— foil stamping and Singer sewing — giving the cards a handmade yet sophisticated feel.
