If there was a way to for GLS Companies to showcase how they’ve moved beyond the functions of a typical printer, this digitally printed holiday card speaks to their creative approach by using an ingenious pairing: reflected light and motion.
Three spinning snowflakes that catch the light highlight the metallic effect of the Aspire Petallics Cover. Said snowflake discs are suspended on thread inside diecut frames, which allow them to float and move.
The engineering for this required some intricate handwork to pull off – lengths of thread sandwiched between two spheres that form the snowflakes, the thread tails then glued in the precise diecut spots.
A nice “fold-over” not only hides the extra thread, but gives a wonderful thick feel to the card that makes it super sturdy so snowflakes can move securely about bringing recipients some holiday fun.
