And what would you do if your company turned 13 on Jan. 13, 2013? Well, throw a 13th anniversary party! And if that company happens to be filled with talented creative people, the invite is going to be fun, bespoke, original, and in this case, multi-media.
A set of stop-motion videos building “13” shapes out of items related to the industries served by this design firm (food, cocktails, wine…) were made and shown on a page that served as the RSVP. Invited guests received an emailed save-the-date.
The printed invitations were sent in custom envelopes handmade in-house. Four coasters, letterpress printed on 220 lb. Crane’s Lettra, rested inside the energetic orange mailer.
Each coaster is embellished with the number 13 in an original font (these are also used in the video) with only the website URL on the back. (The nice and simple design creates evergreen coasters that recipients are more likely to keep.) Since every party needs a little bling, the coasters were edge painted in-house with silver spray paint. (The spray paint won out over letterpress ink, stamp pad and silver foil leaf for budget, ease and effect.)
So where’s the actual invite? On the bellyband that holds those coasters neatly together. The party date, time, location and RSVP URL are printed digitally on the band’s translucent stock.
Whew! Can’t wait to see what they do for their 26th anniversary!
