This Diamond Anniversary invitation came to us from Hong Kong and beautifully reflects its clients’ Asian heritage and a respect for the longevity of this union.
While the color palette (red stock with gold foil leaf type) might be expected, opening the landscape-oriented, letter-folded invitation gave way to a wonderful surprise – a sepia-toned headshot of husband and wife from 60 years ago separates into five panels and slides open to one side revealing a full-color image of the couple today.
Also included with the printed materials for this event was a keepsake photo cover adorned with an intricate laser-cut emblem reminiscent of a woodcut. The emblem is about a 1/16” thick and contains hearts, birds, fish, and a couple in traditional Asian attire. A small faux diamond is placed at the bottom of a heart containing the couple’s name.
The design of the emblem is repeated on the outside of the invitation – done in varnish on top of the red – giving it a subtle watermark look. The invitation is a wonderful tribute for a special occasion that we suspect will be enjoyed into the next generations.
