The adult coloring book craze inspired H.O.T. Graphic Services’ 40th anniversary commemorative calendar. It was a way for the marketing services provider to engage its customers while boosting Facebook “likes” and promoting the fact that print is a viable marketing tool.
“A QR code directs customers to a URL that explains the contest rules,” explains H.O.T.’s Cindy Hauff. “The participant ‘likes’ our Facebook page, posts a colored calendar page with #realHOTimpressions, and they receive a free 40th anniversary T-shirt. Then every quarter, our associates will pick the best post, and that customer will receive a prize valued at $200 or more.”
The 4-color calendar was digitally printed on Domtar Lynx 100 lb. Cover and included a die-cut backer stand. It took six days to print, hand-assemble, wire-bind and shrink-wrap 750 26-page calendars.
The company included a canister of recycled colored pencils along with the gift to immediately engage customers and make it easier for them to begin participating the minute they received the calendar.
