While the shelves upon shelves of high-end liquors behind the bar at your favorite watering hole can certainly impress with their intricate labels and exotically-colored glass, there are often some equally splendid containers lurking just out of sight. Take these three offerings from The 86 Company: Ford’s Gin, Aylesbury Duck Vodka and Tequila Cabeza. Each label was digitally printed by Innovative Labeling Solutions (ILS) on an HP Indigo WS6000 press.
“When viewing the front of the bottle you see one design, but when viewing the opposite side of the bottle you see a completely different design on the inside,” explains Kristen Livingston of ILS. Thanks to the clear nature of the spirits inside the bottle, we can easily inspect the back-side of each label, which treat us to tales about ducks and treasure maps from lands we’ve yet to explore.
“Being able to utilize both the front and back of the same label allows for as much text and design as desired,” says Kristen. “You get the benefits of being able to incorporate two separate designs on one piece to really maximize the space.”
These labels “were specifically designed for the bottle handler (i.e., the bartender),” she adds. They “are impervious to moisture and contain large amounts of text with product information that only a bartender will see and appreciate. The label works with the unique bottle design that allows for easier handling by the bartender and more accurate ‘pours’ of the product.”
