Paper Cup with Elegance

467-cup-1

Drink it in – a paper cup with beauty, functionality and sustainability. When Iggesund decided to test the possibilities of its paper as an alternative to the typical polystyrene material used for beverage cups, they didn’t forget to include color, shine, pattern and texture.

The cup is constructed of two substrates – PE-coated Invercote for the inside and Aluvision for the outside – then glued together to form one unit. Aluvision is an Invercote extrusion coated with a thin layer of aluminum foil and PE on top of the foil. The effect of the Aluvision portion is like a built-in cozy.

The overall intricate pattern was printed in a vintage orange shade with the Invercote name and floral frame embossed. Registration between the printing and embossing is insanely tight, but well worth the effort to get that great tactile element.
