We wanted to create something that people will use after the calendar year is over. Print was the best way to make a deck of cards (unless you know something we don’t đ )
I learned that you need to have sharp eyes on press when offset printing multi colored pieces with a lot of detail.

Inspired by Swiss folk art and the work of Sanna Annukka, MM Brand Agency is back with its annual self-promotion piece â a playing-card calendar that celebrates the Chinese new year. The intricate illustrations, poetic copywriting, and thoughtful construction are bright, inventive and ever so handsome.
While a handy postcard serves as the greeting for the gift and the requisite location for signatures, it is the refreshing use of a poem here that establishes a playful tone for gift recipients.
The Year of the Ram is translated perfectly with this bold and vibrant palette. The design for the back of the cards juxtaposes the colors a way lends an M.C. Escher quality â so interesting for the eyes. The subtle placement of the suit icons on the forehead of the ram is creative and fun.
No detail is left to chance: the illustration for each face card is infused with elements of its corresponding season, tight registration is skillfully printed on luscious McCoy Silk, the craftsmanship on the holder is stylish and upscale (plyboo material is a great sustainable bonus).
