Nothing frustrates me more than presenting a scuffed up business card to a prospective client. Enter designer and letterpress printer Megan Zettlemoyer who developed this adorable business card carrier as a promotional piece for her company, Typothecary Letterpress. She designed these colorful containers specifically to help protect cards against the dog-earing and smudging that comes with carrying anything in a pocket or purse.
The simple blind emboss is combined with a silver rubber-based ink, which makes the geometric patterns virtually pop off the stunning Pop-Tone 100 lb. Cover papers. The vibrant hues of the Blu-Raspberry, Grape Jelly, Orange Fizz and Sour Apple stocks are a perfect complement to the French Paper Mod-Tone Azure duplexed on the inside of the carton. Graphic Crafts did an admirable job die cutting and assembling the lot.
That said, the duplexing did make for some trial-and-error experiences. “The creation of the die and actual production took a few tries to accommodate for thickness of the papers and to make sure everything lined up perfectly,” she explains.
The extra time and patience truly paid off. The thickness of the carton, together with the energetic colors, are sure to create an impression that lasts, even before you’ve handed your new best friend your card.
