Just when I thought all the clever calendar ideas had been designed, Grafik came up with a novel, practical, who-needs-Facebook-anyway concept.
The idea blends door hangers (think of a hotel “Do Not Disturb” sign), funky illustrations populated by the most interesting cartoon creatures, copy that makes you giggle, and desktop calendar.
The package consists of an outer wrap (think table tent style) that serves as the desktop calendar frame – a diecut slit on the front panel holds small cards (2.5” x 2”). Each small card has a month/days printed on it, which the user pushes out of its kiss-cut position at the top of a larger card (5″ x 7.5″).
Once the little month has been removed, the larger card can now be used as a door hanger. Working under the premise that your state-of-mind status can’t always be posted online, these door hangers let fellow office workers know just how you’re feeling that day with fun one-liners like “Talk To Me in Three Cups,” “Just Took a Lickin’,” “Off Solving Another Global Crisis,” “Bad News? Knock Next Door.”
For presentation, the 13 individual door hangers are tucked inside the outer wrap, which has been diecut to accommodate a wide, black rubber band that holds it all together.
So how do I feel about this project? Great design, awesome printing, beautiful paper … please send me one for 2012!
