Boxed Notes

Happily, there are still so many of us who love receiving and sending cards, letters and notes in the mail. Picking stationery for those special messages is not very different from selecting a fine wine – color, finish, pairing with the right person – all come into play. This set of boxed notes designed by Gilah Press is worthy of any connoisseur’s collection.

All the elements of the set, from the custom-made envelopes, envelope liners, box construction and wrapping to the letterpress printed cards themselves come together beautifully. Colors match across the various printing processes (letterpress, offset and digital) and papers (Reich Savoy, Colorplan and Sterling Litho) used.

Attention to detail shines through in so many ways. The hand-drawn, nature-inspired illustrations lend a whimsical informality. Edge painting on the note cards adds another layer of color to the soft, contemporary palette. Including liners (love the fun patterns) to the beautifully constructed square flap envelopes offers distinctive style. Even the vertical orientation of the box design and its lift-up top, which makes the set so convenient to put on your desk, says this team understands how people use their stationery.
