Once upon a time, a most amazing shadow box arrived at the doors to our kingdom. It came from the land of enchanted design, clothed in the softest of paper and bedecked in stamps of golden foil. This dimensional creation took us on a wondrous journey through diecutting adventures to tell the saga of one princely project of print.
The creative behind this story-in-a-box shows great skill … and imagination in gift giving. (A different theme is presented each year to friends during the holidays.) Perfect alignment on the construction is a marvel, and the concept lends depth and childlike fun to the piece.
Verigood Blotter Cover makes for a wonderfully tactile feel on the outside. My fingers also register lusciously silken pages on the booklet (done in French Durotone Butcher White). Using candy wrappers to give added shine and color to the scene dividers filled with chocolate bars works perfectly.
Both laser and traditional diecutting are the stars here though. Such intricate detail (like tiny notches depicting Birch bark and small raindrops falling from the sky) is truly amazing. All in all, a very happy ending to this fairy tale submission.
