You’d expect something decidedly original from a name so famous for creative advertising and communications. But this invitation, celebrating the firm’s 77th anniversary, really takes the clay.
Leo Burnett leoburnett.com employees in Chicago arrived at work one morning to find the invite on their desks – a seemingly understated black box (a mere 2.25” cube) with silver foil lettering. Copy concise and elegant with a tagline, special event logo, Leo Burnett’s signature and the date.
Once opened, a burst of deep green color and three small, but mighty pieces are revealed: an accordion-folded brochure with instructions, a block of grey modeling clay shrinkwrapped and adorned with a small circular 77+ logo, and (you’re not going to believe this) a tiny pair of Leo Burnett’s iconic eyeglasses (custom diecut from 24 pt. Black Touché).
Each employee was invited to celebrate their 7+ decades of creativity and craftsmanship by sculpting their own busts of Leo Burnett himself. The piece provided an extraordinary opportunity to engage and connect with the audience. I can only imagine what fun they had!
Leo Burnett 77+ Anniversary Invite was featured as a Paper Inspiration.
