Lingerie … Undies … those articles of clothing so private that the Victorians called them “unmentionables.” But trust me, with a product catalog this tantalizing, there will be a whole lot of mentioning going on.
The inspiration for this new line of undergarments, a unique combination of the hard lines of cityscapes and feminine fluidity, calls for an unconventional marketing approach. Hence, a cover design that you might assume was for an after-hours club … solid black Plike stock with restrained touches of gold foil type, matching gold staples and spot satin varnish.
Inside, a model moves sensually across the pages of Porcelain Eco Silk in digitally printed color and quadtone photographs that are shot in an unexpected industrial setting of cold cement and hard steel. (No frilly boudoir clichés here.)
A small paragraph on page three (the only marketing copy besides the names of the garments themselves), invites the viewer to “Move beyond the boundaries …” This project has done that in a decidedly refreshing, contemporary way.
NOE Undergarments Catalog was featured as a Paper Inspiration.
