RH Boston Gallery Book

“Our design point of view comes from an architectural perspective – it’s all about balance, symmetry and proportion,” said Restoration Hardware Chairman Emeritus Gary Friedman in a recent interview with Architectural Digest. This aesthetic is beautifully revealed in a launch brochure the retailer (now known as RH) sent to PR firms nationwide.

The print project, designed by Robert Valentine and the RH internal design team, stands gracefully next to the inspiration of the 1873 building that is home to RH’s new flagship store in Boston.

Exquisite photography, the foundation of the piece, is produced with luxurious detail via offset UV printing on Mohawk Superfine Smooth. The uncoated stock gives that warmth and tactile feel we love so much.

The simplicity and understated quality of the typography and solid gray foldout cover balance the strong visual interiors featured on the 40 perfect-bound pages. RH’s latest gallery book is as large-scale in its impact as its historic brick-and-mortar muse. (Hopefully, we’ll get another dose of this print design delight soon when RH opens its store in Greenwich, Conn. – in a 1917 post office.)

RH Boston Gallery Book was featured as a Paper Inspiration.
