Holidays bring people together for a celebration, and this card brought the designer (Chen Associates), the printer (Full Circle Press), the paper guru (PaperSpecs) and the paper mill (Neenah Paper) together for a collaboration that was worthy of celebration all right.
The main card contained diecut windows where recipients could customize their holiday message by applying a different label for each day. The diecut labels were words as well as images and came on sheets organized by themes: Bah Humbug; Happy Holidays; Your Royal Highness; Television, Beer and General Laziness; and ‘Tis the Shopping Season.
The package included an instruction sheet that was inserted into a glassine envelope along with the main card and theme labels, all of which were placed inside the mailing envelope.
The end result, a hybrid of mad libs and rebus puzzles in an advent calendar format, was interactive and inclusive – a project that pushed the envelope and gave everyone a chance to shine.
