Which of These is NOT Used as a Sustainable Packaging Material?

Answer: Mint!

There are plenty of mints that come wrapped in sustainable packaging, but as far as we know mint isn’t used as packaging…at least not yet. (Please do let us know in the comments below if you’ve come across it!)

Some of the materials that are used include:

1. Cornstarch. Instead of using synthetic polymers (which are non-sustainable), many businesses have shifted to cornstarch packaging because of its biodegradability.

2. Mushroom. This makes use of mycelia (mushroom roots) and other agricultural residues.

3. Seaweed. Sway is a startup that is disrupting the plastics industry by offering seaweed-based material.

Rice Puff Packaging was used for a while, but the Rats were eating it which left two messes.
I think that Mint is used to deter mice,
so putting mint in the Rice Puff Packaging might be the next packaging material.
It would smell great around the holidays, anyway.
Lots of Benefits. Not a health hazard and could be eaten by children without being totally toxic.

We absolutely love this, Ron – thank you for sharing! “Could be eaten by children without being totally toxic” is definitely a plus 😉
