Weekly Quiz: Embossing Without Ink is Called…?

Answer: Blind Emboss!

Embossing is often referred to as the 3rd dimension in your design. Raising type or an image within your design adds texture by creating shadow and depth, adding allure to your brochures, letterheads and business cards.

Embossing techniques can be used with or without added color or foil.

For a classy, subtle printing effect, use blind embossing. Your design will be raised or indented into the paper surface without any additional color. That image can be single-level, multi-level or sculptured to create a variety of effects. (For a powerful example of blind embossing, be sure to check out this stunning print!)
